An economic development announcement is planned for the Carmel City Center this morning. Mayor Jim Brainard, Pedcor Co. President Bruce Cordingley and officials from an unidentified company will be taking part in the event.

Where: The Hopper Building in Carmel City Center, located on the southwest corner of Range Line Road and City Center Drive.

Who: Mayor Jim Brainard, Bruce Cordingley, President and CEO of Pedcor Companies, and representatives of the parties involved.

Background: Carmel City Center is the new downtown for Carmel currently under construction. It is the location of The Center for the Performing Arts, which includes a 1,600 seat world-class concert hall named “The Palladium” and a 500-seat theater named “The Tarkington” and a 200-seat black box theater. The development is located in the heart of Carmel at the southwest corner of City Center Drive (126th Street) and Range Line Road. The Monon Trail runs directly through the project. It will include restaurants, retail, office suites and luxury residences. Carmel City Center was developed as a public/private partnership between the City of Carmel, Pedcor and numerous developers. Early City Center projects include NTS Carmel Center Apartments (formerly AMLI Apartments), the Townhomes at City Center (developed by Ryland), Shapiro’s Delicatessen, the Carmel Clay Veterans Memorial, Pedcor Corporate Headquarters, Flagstar Bank, Hoosier Realty Building and Salon 01 (formerly Carmel Schwinn).
