Daniels: Asian Companies Show Strong Interest
Governor Mitch Daniels is hailing his two week jobs mission
to Asia as a success. He says several business leaders in China and
Japan have shown genuine interest in placing operations in the Hoosier
state. The trip included an announcement from a Chinese company to
expand operations at a White County trailer manufacturer, and Ivy Tech
Community College's agreement to establish formal ties with a Chinese
education institution.
Officals are hoping more details will emerge from the trip, with Ice Miller LLP partner Harry Gonso telling Inside INdiana Business there appear to be a couple of "hot prospects" in the alternative energy sector.
Indiana Secretary of Commerce Mitch Roob will be on Inside INdiana Business Television this week to give his assessment of the trip.
