Fort Wayne Foreign Trade Zone Expands
Representatives from about 40 companies are gathering this morning to discuss the new eight-county Northeast Indiana Foreign Trade Zone. Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance Vice President of Airport Development Patrick Dooley says the initiative allows businesses to grow jobs in Indiana.Dooley says the program expands the zone that previously only included Allen County. He says officials are awaiting final approval from the national foreign trade zone board. That is expected late summer or early fall. Dooley says representatives from participating counties jumped on board after being educated on the benefits of foreign trade zones and working as a region to remain globally competitive.
