New Employer Coming to Evansville
A Georgia company is planning to open a distribution center in southern Indiana. The Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville says Rotary Corporation intends to invest more than $1 million to purchase a building and install new equipment. The company hopes to have the center operating by the end of next month.The Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville is pleased to announce the arrival of Rotary Corporation, the world’s largest supplier of aftermarket outdoor power equipment parts. Headquartered in Glennville, Ga., Rotary Corporation will open its new distribution center in the existing 37,000 sq. ft. structure located at 4916 O’Hara Drive in Evansville. Initially, Rotary Corporation will create seven new jobs, expanding to twelve over the next few years and invest over 1.2 million in the purchase of the building, improvements and new equipment. Rotary Corporation intends to be operational by the end of June.

This project is the perfect example of how we are striving to diversify our economy by recruiting basic companies that create new jobs and bring new dollars into the area,” said Donna Crooks, Business Development Director at the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville.
Rotary Corporation carefully considered several other locations for its business, before ultimately deciding that Evansville, IN was the best fit.
"Several months ago, we set out to strategically locate a new location for our distribution center. After an extensive modeling and site selection effort, it became clear that Evansville, in particular, would be the optimal site for our facility."

“As companies try to reduce costs and make its business processes more efficient, location is becoming an even more crucial element of their decision--making process. Evansville’s central location provides Rotary Corporation with easy access to major markets,” said Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel.
The Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville partnered with realtors Chris Stewart and Steve Martin of The Martin Team as well as local economic development organizations to bring Rotary Corporation to Evansville. Partnering organizations included; the Indiana Economic Development Council; Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana; and Grow Southwest Indiana Workforce. Due to time constraints, the company chose not to take advantage of the tax phase--in incentives program.
