Genencor International Expands in Cedar Rapids and Plans New $52 Million Facility

Genencor International, a company that develops enzymes for use in grain processing and laundry products, and a division of Denmark-based Danisco, has expanded its manufacturing plant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and opened a new applied research center to test products in real-world situations. The $52 million facility will allow the company to keep pace with the growing grain processing and biofuels industry. The Cedar Rapids complex employs 114 people, including 11 at the innovation center.
