Manufacturer to Grow Its Rushville Operations
RUSHVILLE (April 17, 2008) - Trane Inc. (NYSE:TT), a global provider of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and services, announced today it will expand its commercial manufacturing operations here, creating as many as 25 new jobs and expanding training opportunities for its current employees.
The manufacturer of air temperature control and ventilation systems will invest more than $7.4 million to upgrade its facilities and equipment and provide industry-specific training to workers at its 1300 North Benjamin Street facility.
"Decisions like the one Trane is making to continue to invest in Indiana reflects a growing confidence in the business climate in our state," said Nathan Feltman, secretary of commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
Founded in 1913, by James and Reuben Trane, the Piscataway, N.J. - headquartered company began operations in Rushville in 1971 and currently employs more than 200 at the site. The company, which operates from more than 400 locations around the globe and employs more than 29,000 worldwide, will begin hiring additional production associates in Rushville later this year.
"We're pleased to continue to invest in the Rushville operation," said Greg Harcourt, general manager of Trane's Rushville facility. "Investments in our operations make our facility better and more competitive, and investing in our employees with training allows them to stay abreast of the latest technology."
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Trane up to $48,000 in training grants based on the company's hiring plans. The company plans to provide its employees with basic computer training, supervisory skills training and other industry specific practices.
