The collaboration of these research institutes is very instrumental in the Missouri initiative to remain globally competitive with its energy costs.  Missouri’s energy portfolio includes energy created from coal, wind, hydro, natural gas and bio mass.  Fuels for the automotive and small engine industry are provided by many miles of pipeline that transport petroleum products.  Missouri is also a leading state in the production of corn-based ethanol and soy-based biodiesel.
